I love this painting! And your previous post reminds me I need to read some Knausgaard…
The ‘thing itself’ has fascinated me ever since I tried to paint and now that I take photos. The pumpkiness of a pumpkin was the first painting I made — obsessed with the color and the form.
Thank you Vicki! And this is just a wonderful thing to read tonight, as I’ve been all the last few days painting, searching for just that – the “thing itself.”
LOVE that sweater painting!!! ~Jane
Thank you Jane! To my amazement now I knitted that sweater for Mr. Carson 40 years ago, now belongs to Lady Baby!
I always loved this colorful striped sweater. Longevity and history and color are definitely things to be noticed and celebrated.
Agreed Carol. I’m a pathetic knitter but still remember doing this with great fondness. Suspect you showed me how to cast in. I never mastered that.
Sweet memory and now Lady Baby gets to wear it too. Love the generational thing…keep it going!
Oh I hadn’t thought of that – wool is amazing. I suppose Lady Baby could pass it on!
